Connecting relationship driven sales with technical knowledge

About Me

The world only runs when there are people there to keep it going. The stronger a connection you can make between what someone needs to keep their world going, and how you can help them achieve their goals, the more everyone benefits from the experience. That's how you grow a company's revenue. I look for opportunities to combine the technical oriented mindset from an education in Physics that has helped me in building websites for personal and small business growth, with my experience in both domestic and international sales to drastically diverse markets.

Senior Sales Representative

Rise Summer Sales

Working with a sister company of Discovery for the summer of 2015, David marketed to some of California's best and brightest in Silicon Valley and the Bay Area. Contributing to the leadership of his office through his weekly trainings, many of his team members were able to hit their own goals, with 70% finishing in top 20 company wide positions. David would surpase his own goals, finish the summer as one of the company top 5, and briefly work with company ownership during the summer of 2016 to help test a Canadian market in the GTA for future student marketing programs.

Physics Educator

Self Employed

Approached by professors at Brock University with an opportunity to help students seeking to better understand coursework and improve testing evaluations, David worked with the Physics Department to bridge gaps between real world knowledge and theory. In doing so, he would meet with individual students to better understand their areas of concern, and would subsequently prepare additional material complete with step by step whiteboard problem solving twice a week to strengthen material understanding.

Sales Representative

Discovery Summer Sales

Accepting a position with the Texas Travel Team, David formalized his direct sales training with rigourous required coursework and sales testings. During the 2013 summer, he would interact with thousands of Texan Americans in the Western, Eastern, and Southern markets. Over 200 one-year service period agreements were collected and signed with payment information, and subsequently entered into the company customer relationship management (CRM) software. Seeing an opportunity to retain potential lost business and given administrative CRM system access to do so, he reached out to accounts that had failed to get serviced during the summer. Creating an Account Retention role within the company where one had never existed, he ensured that all parties involved in the sale benefited from his self motivated work ethic.

Direct Sale and Service Specialist

Canadian Property Stars

Responding to the need for individuals that demonstrate hardwork and personal integrity as core values, David was able to quickly excel in the highly demanding and competetive sales culture. Eager to learn from the coaching provided by the management team, he proceeded to win many daily individual and sales team competitions. It was this experience that would open his eyes to a career in sales with unlimited potential.

The sport of kings held in a playground for giants. Growing up in the country with my two brothers, I was always the kind of kid that stayed out well past dark climbing trees or just exploring. Some things don’t change. Climbing has been many things to me throughout my life, there are just so many different forms and pursuits that offer their own unique challenges and hardships. Every time I go out on an expedition I get a new opportunity to test my physical and mental resolve in new ways. The purpose of each climb usually center's around building a challenge that will require extended periods of suffering that are far from comfortable, as nothing easily gained is every really worth investing yourself in.

Sharing my experiences with friends and family through my climbs, as they're the first ones I think of when I'm out there, has been something I have enjoyed. So as I find weirder and more dangerous pieces of rock to cheat gravity on, or generally dream and plan for the next expedition, I invite you to take a look through my eyes.

I have a thing for books. Not so much for stories, there are plenty of good ones out there I'm sure, and I try to make some of my own. No I have a thing for good, rich, growth oriented books. I wanted to share the books I've found that have been most valuable to me. Whether they've help me develop as a person, better relate with and understand others, or just opened my eyes to a new area that I'm interesting in gaining experience, the following are some of my favourites for those very reasons.
